Module 2 of 2
In Progress

Setting your school up for sustainable systems

Continuing the journey towards seamless change management, this module focuses on making the transition to Secure Access a long-lasting success. We’ll explore strategies to ensure that all users are well-informed and actively engaged in the change, emphasising the importance of celebrating achievements. Additionally, we’ll delve into the ongoing promotion of the benefits of Secure Access and promptly addressing any issues that arise to maintain a positive experience.

1. Celebrate the win:

  • Consider encouraging the school to organise a fun event to celebrate the successful implementation of Secure Access. Think themed morning teas, cupcakes, or other activities that boost team morale.
  • Highlight the positive impact the project has had on the school community through newsletters, internal notices or other visible official communications, as improved morale is a valuable side benefit.

2. Promoting the benefits of the change (remember: WIFM):

  • Continue promoting the benefits of Secure Access by highlighting how it positively affects the daily lives and work of school staff members.
  • Tailor your communication to emphasise what’s in it for each user personally, keeping in mind the, “What’s in it for me?” (WIFM principle from the previous module).

3. Emphasising pain avoidance and gain achievement:

  • Remind school leaders and champions of Secure Access that people are often more motivated to avoid potential problems than to seek benefits.
  • Reinforce the idea that preventing disruptions and issues (pain avoidance) is a powerful motivator for continued engagement.

4. Monitoring for bugs and irregularities:

  • Establish an internal process for promptly identifying any bugs or irregularities in outcomes.
  • Time is of the essence in addressing these issues to minimise disruption and ensure a positive user experience.
  • Establishing measurements for the success and impact of the change can allow for regular evaluation to make necessary process changes.
